I am novice to JIra , have an one off task to migrate Jira. I have been doing my reading. however thought i should also refer to community for help
So, I am planning to migrate 6 of my projects for one Jira Server to another Server(not manged my me) . Along with projects, I would like to migrate user, app data, permission scheme's as well.
From (A)
- JIra version - 7.9.2
- Database - MS SQL Server 2012
To (B)
- Jira Version - 7.12.3
- Database - Postgress 9.6.11
I would like to know
- Do i have to upgrade JIra on A to match B's version
- As the database are different what do i have do to migrate data.
- The user's will be using different user ID after migration, how do i map them to user id used in prior to migration in A
- If i need to upgrade where do i need to look for information regarding upgrade
