Migrating from Server to cloud

We are planning on migrating from Jira server to Cloud. Do we need to wait for the end of our contract to move to Jira cloud or is there a way to move early and offset the costs already paid?

Hi @Senith Liyanage and welcome to the Community!

You definitely don't need to wait for your licenses to expire before you make the move. As migrating may take some time and usually needs (quite a bit of) preparation and testing, it is recommended to start well in time.

While you want be able to redeem any remaining maintenance from your server licenses, you will instead receive your cloud licenses for free for as long as your current server maintenance is still valid.
