Migrating JIRA from Windows to Linux platform

Currently have JIRA on Windows 2008 server with a separate server running mySQL.

I need to migrate to a single Linux server (Jira and MySQL).

Also want to upgrade JIRA to latest version on the Linux server after migration. 

Currently on v6.2.6

I am a novice to Linux and Jira, so any detailed info will be a big plus.

Hi!

What I would sugest to you is to do full backup of jira. Keep the instance running, and on seperate machine install linux, DB server, same version of Jira and restore backup, and play with it until you break all then start from begging :)

I think the best way to go is to separate your migration in two steps

1. Migrate your existing instance and DB to Linux
2. Upgrade your JIRA instance to the latest version

For 1. you should download the same version you are currently running on the Atlassian archive page: https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/download-archives
