searching in the web and all over the places I did not really find a solution on how to migrate my data from Basecamp 3 to Jira Cloud.

The CSV option is painful and not really working easily. The 10 min migration time now ended up in 4hr investigation and reading with the result... data is still not in Jira.

I have these HTML folder structure Export with 11 GB or an csv with 68 K,  both of it were not really successfully imported. Apparently I feel frustrated  without a "smart" solution.

Is there anybody who could give me a helping hand on this?

With all the reading it looks like Jira Cloud cannot import the same way like Jira Server.

For Jira Server I saw the "importer" .... and for cloud?

Yes I read the thread from 2018, with the hope there is a change and another hint since then or a tool provided by Atlassian.

Unfortunately, there is no magic "migrate from Basecamp" option.  This is why many people will contract this work through a Solutions Partner. We do this kind of stuff for a living. Migrations are not trivial, even in cases where there is a purpose built importer.

We would use CSV to perform the import.  It has limitations, but you can get most of the data across. Server doesn't really help you, as there is no Basecamp importer there either.

THX Dave, sadly it proofs the result of my investigation.

Another option you can consider is what I refer to as "sunsetting." Given the limited return on investment of many data migrations, it may be better to continue to work existing issues in Basecamp and open new issues in Jira.  At some point in time the issues in Basecamp will age off and you won't care about the legacy data any more.

A variation is to migrate only open issues in Basecamp via copy & paste.  If you only have a few hundred issues that are open, it's quick work to gather a team of 20 people and divide and conquer.
