Migrate one JIRA project from one Cloud instance to other Cloud instance

scott norris

Context: Our company has asked that we consolidate our active projects into one Jira Instance.   As a result, I have asked to make this happen for my active project.

I have been trying to follow the following KB articles linked below.   The Backup process worked great, but the documented Jira Import option off the Setting/System/Import Export left nav is not showing in my instance.

I have been given Admin privileges in attempts to address with no success.  Even our Admin cannot see this import option with their access in the target instance.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @scott norris, this might be a permission issue.  Can you check and see if you are in a group called "site-admins"?  I found that group in my Jira Cloud Global Permissions page.  It's not a group I remember creating myself.  Go to:  Admin > System > Global Permissions.

Here's a screenshot of the missing option, which is now labeled "Restore system" at,  Admin > System.

Hope this helps,
