Can you please point me to a document that will show me how to migrate my server to use Microsoft SQL 2014. I want to limit downtime as much as possible.

The best way to do this is probably with the built in XML backups.

Make a backup, shut down JIRA, delete your dbconfig.xml.

Restart JIRA, it will prompt you for database settings, then you can import your data from XML.
