Migrate Debian OS to Ubuntu - Jira Server

Denis Rodrigues October 18, 2022

Morning Guys, is there any good practice for OS migration with Jira Server?

ex: Jira is currently installed on a Debian, I would like to migrate to a more current Ubuntu server.
Does Atlasian have any recommendations on how to do this migration?

HI @Denis Rodrigues

If you are keeping the same database then I would just shutdown jira, install Jira on the new system (don't start the new jira yet), then do an rsync of all the attachments to the new server, and then update the configs on the new install to point to the database and new home directory. Just remember use the same version of Jira that you are running now and check for any custom configs you have.

Thanks,

Tim
