Merge Jira Cloud to Server/Data Center

I have some projects in a Jira Cloud instance that I need to migrate/merge into our self hosted instance of Jira Server (soon to be Jira Data Center). What is the best way to do this?

I would set up a sandbox server environment, export the Cloud instance to the sandbox server environment, and then merge the two instances together.  I personally use Botron's Configuration Manager https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1211611/configuration-manager-for-jira?hosting=datacenter&tab=overview

There are a number of other ways you could go about this, but the above steps are ones I've used multiple times before.
