Is there a way that i can make automatically all the users of a certain role mentioned in an issue watchers of this issue?
I couldn't find something relevant in the Notification scheme
Thank you
Unfortunately, watchers can only be individuals, and cannot be added via groups or project roles. See a similar answer.
The only thing I have seem similar is to set up a distribution group email and mention this "user". The individuals will be notified, however you mentioned project roles so I need to assume you require the flexibility of a "group" on a per project basis.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for your reply,
Excluding roles, is there a way to catch the event of mentioning some user and automatically add him to the watchers of the issue.
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
This might help explain how JIRA uses @ mentions and watchers.
I could not find anything about adding users if they were mentioned however, if this is possible it would be a great lesson to learn.
There might be a plugin that could offer this functionality, unfortunately I do not know of any.
Hope this helps.
