I would like to measure the time that a person was an "assignee" to a ticket, while the ticket was active i.e. in any state other than "Closed".
I'm looking to do this without any plug in, but through the use of the logs on changes in the ticket and 'created' and 'closed' dates.

Natively Jira does not have a a built in solution for this, but to get the time in status in the manner you are looking for you can into third party apps that provide this additional function.
