Markdown links not rendering in issue view

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
I am creating issues in Jira through a 3rd party application.
When adding a description through the API (v2) generel markdown syntax i properly rendered in the issue view except links.
Any ideas on how to get it properly rendered without manually readding the description?
