Mark 1 checkbox results in 2 issues marked, not 1

Dave Paules January 9, 2025

I'm on the backlog view and I want to mark multiple issues to drag them up/down in the backlog. I mark a SINGLE checkbox (1 story). JIRA decides that the most recent story I was viewing should ALSO have it's checkbox marked.

How do I disable this "feature/bug" where the UI auto-marks the checkbox of the "most recently viewed" story instead of what I want: STRICT ADHERENCE TO ONLY MARKING THE CHECKBOX OF THE ISSUES I INTENTIONALLY MARK.

I can't tell you how many times I have affected our sprint's story list by mistakenly moving stories I didn't purposely select as part of my PO job duties to re-order and prioritize the backlog.

@Dave Paules I feel you mate, I must have fell for the same thing myself at some point.

If you are on the new interface you should have this feedback button. Atlassian usually don't care, so good luck.

Be sure to always refresh the web page before you start selecting. On the most browsers is the F5 key that can quickly do it. After a refresh the last selected issue is no longer selected.
