We are trying to create an automation in one of our JIRA Software projects to look up Asset Objects linked to the email address that is linked to the issue.
If you try to search for the "Lookup Objects" action it does not appear in the search, see below:
SO we tried to find a workaround and Created an automation in global administration and then we assigned it to this project. See below:
But now we are receiving this error:
Can you look up objects in a Software Project? Is this the problem?
Hi @Mareli
The Lookup Object action is available for Jira Service Management (JSM) projects: https://support.atlassian.com/cloud-automation/docs/jira-automation-actions/#Lookup-objects
Your first rule's scope could not "see" it, and the global rule could because of the larger scope. Given the trigger is on issue transition, I recommend reducing the scope to multiple project, and include your software project and the JSM one.
In your rule details, I note someone has changed the rule actor from the default of "Automation for Jira". Can that user's account access your JSM projects? If not, try switching the actor back to the default value.
Next, I notice a Re-fetch Issue action in your rule. That is normally needed to refresh data needed after an issue update, or to handle a timing problem with the Issue Created trigger. Why is that action in your rule?
Finally, the rule is trying to edit specific fields and the error indicates they do not exist in the issue type / project scope. Do those fields exist for the issue that triggered the rule, MTS-153?
Kind regards,
Bill
Can you screenshot the "edit issue" action in more detail? I would assume theres some "addtional fields" that get set within.
Nevermind. I just checked and it would say smth like "advanced" on the edit action. I that case im not sure where the bad request is coming from.
