Looking for release management ideas and best practices

We recently started using JIRA for tracking issues.

We plan to go live with our first release in a few weeks. So we would like to put a proper Release management process in place.

We are looking for templates and best practices recommended by Atlassian for defining a release management process. Could anyone please guide me on this.
