Looking for a better way to add time

Karol Peake

I want an easier way to add time on a ticket.  Having to click the three dots, then choose Log work, then fill in minutes/hours, then submit is very tedious.

Is there any native dashboard add-on or marketplace tool that would add a sidebar panel of buttons to quickly add +1m, +5m, +15M, +1h, with a double/triple click to get multiple minutes/hours?

If not, then it should be a Jira update! :-)

Hi @Karol Peake 👋🏻

First of all, welcome to the community. ✨

To answer your question, there are several Atlassian Marketplace tools that provide much faster, "one-click" time logging directly in the sidebar or issue view. Few named tools:

  • Simple Worklog Timer for Jira (Best for "One-Click" +15m/1h)
  • Time Assistant - Time Tracking (Best for Dashboard/Command Center)
  • Clockify - Time Tracking & Timesheet
  • WorklogPro - Best for Fast Grid-Based Logging

Like @Nick _CodeCove_ had mentioned and provided you an example of the tool he uses.

Hope this answers your question. 🙂

Thanks,
Anwesha

Hi @Karol Peake

As suggested by everyone a mktplace app can help here. If you are open to try out one  pls take a look at

Worklogs Time Tracking in Jira & Timesheets

With this add-on, you can easily -

  • Enter Time Spent for multiple issues from Time sheet screen. With Calendar view and Board view
  • Create time reports in real time by grouping & categorizing data with aggregation
  • Prepare your reports based on Project/Sprint/Issue Type/Assignees and various other filters
  • Group your data to build more meaningful reports
  • CSV Export
  • Dashboard gadget
  • Add and use custom fields to worklogs (like billable status, work type, cost center, etc.)

Hi,

Double/triple click to add time sounds handy but one misclick logs 5 min you didn't mean to.

We have a free plugin (Timesheets for Jira) with one-click presets (30m, 1h, 2h, 4h, 8h) on the issue. Not the 1m sidebar you asked for, but takes the log-time flow from 5 clicks to 3.

That IS slightly helpful for some of my tickets, but not for my customer service tickets that get 1-15m logged on them.  Is this customizable to set the quick click times?
