List view only opens first status group when getting back and due date warning disappeared

Dear Community,

I believe there have been a few minor changes in behaviour of the list view in Jira Business Projects in Jira Cloud. Which makes it a bit annoying to work with the list view in daily business.

First problem:

I have selected to group the issues in the list view by status, which generates sections for each status. For example "Open", "In Progress" and "Done" and lists the relevant issues under these sections.

If I select an issue in status "In Progress", click on the task ID to open all details and then click on the back link in the upper left corner (or simply use the back button in the browser), I'll get back to the list view. The problem is that only the section with the first status (here "Open") is expanded by default. I as a user would expect the status section "In Progress" being expanded, as I selected an issue from there to display. And I am quite sure that this was the case in the past!

Second problem:

The list view does not highlight the due dates in yellow or red anymore. This was definitely the case in the past and I do not understand why this has been changed? Well I tried to use a condition rule especially to highlight the due date cell but this doesn't work either. My rule is as follows:

Formatierungsregel Fälligkeitsdatum.png

Also tried it with "Today" instead of "Yesterday", selecting the row instead of the cell, but doesn't work either.

Is there a possibility to get back the old list view where all these things did not happen?

I saw this option here in the list settings:

But I am not sure if this setting only applies for the project in which I select it or if it applies to all projects across the whole organization?

Thanks in advance.
Cheers,

Thomas

Hey @Thomas Löschner ,

The first thing relies on how these work items are actually opened - meaning, if they open in preview (either in side panel or on top of List view), then once you close them, the view/expansion should be the same.

Now, if it actually opens the work item within the screen itself and you have that "Back" button, it will kinda reload the List view, and by default, it will expand the first group/status.

I did not find any option to actually configure whether things will open in the preview/sidebar or as a new window within the tab itself. 🤔

As for the second part - highlights, I've tried highlighting stuff by cell or row, and it worked as expected 👀

Btw - I did initial tests in software spaces but then realized and re-tested everything in business ones, and it worked the same for me. 👈

Unofficially, there could be differences between cloud deployments. Meaning, you and I could have different experiences based on some features or backend changes/fixes.
I'd maybe recommend also checking with Atlassian Support (or before that, other teammates) if they can check this out and see which 'version' are you using and if what you're seeing is intentional release, or not.

Cheers,
Tobi

Hey @Tomislav Tobijas ,

first of all, thanks a lot for your response!

Let's begin with the second problem. I created the rule once again according to your screenshot and now, it works for me, too. I made a mistake in my thinking and selected the wrong value for the rule.

However this is just a workaround for me and, as I can see in your screenshot, you still have the warning sign and red frame around the due date, which does not appear anymore in my list view. While it is still being displayed as desired in the issue details.

According to your screenshots regarding the first problem, how can I choose to open the issues in preview mode? Once I click on the issue id, it opens it directly within the whole screen and not in side panel or as "pop-up". Looks like it is always opened in "full screen".

Viewing the issues in the board view, I can choose between the "pop-up" and the side panel.

Cheers,

Thomas
