I am leading a programme across two organisations who have seperate JIRA instances. Is there any way of being any to link dependencies (e.g. is blocked by) across boards when the boards belong to two different organisations?

Thanks,

Nicole.

Hi Nicole,

Welcome to the community!

Yes, this is definitely possible. All you need is for the Jira Administrator to establish an Application Link between both Jira instances. This person needs to be Jira Admin in both instances, by the way.

After the application link is set, you'll see an extra dropdown in the work item-link screen. In the first dropdown, a user can select the name of the other instance (this is customizable by the admin) - and then you'll be able to find work items in the other Jira instance. In the screenshot below, the 'INT-2' ticket actually exists in a different Jira than the work item I'm currently viewing.
