Linking status from Slack to Jira

One of the teams I manage captures status of their Jira issues in their DSU through Slack.  They claim to be able to merge completion status of their various issues back to Jira when they're done.  Instead, I'd like to have a plugin in Jira that links to the Slack channel so I can track updates.  Does anything like this already exist?

If I understood your question, you're asking if Jira updates can be pushed to a Slack channel. Is that right?

If so, we provide an Atlassian-built integration for Jira Cloud and Slack that allows you to pipe notifications from updates in a Jira project to a channel in Slack. I believe this is what you'd want to do if you want to get updates your team is making to Jira from their daily standups.
