Linking JIRA issues to reflect same status

I have 2 different JIRA spaces, space A and space B. I have 2 JIRA tickets created in each of the spaces

space A - ticket 1

space B - ticket 2

I would like to link ticket 1 and ticket 2 (which I can) , but I also want them to reflect the same status - if I update ticket 1 to a status of Done, ticket 2 should also automatically reflect that status.

Is this possible?

I tired looking at Create reciprocal link but since I am in the same environment but 2 different JIRA spaces, I do not see that option working.

You'll need some code to do that.  There's a couple of add-ons in the marketplace that provide it, and they're well worth a look - look for "update status of linked issues"
