We are in the process of setting up a Jira environment, and I am attempting to create a linked server to use as an analytics platform. This is new ground for me, so my comfort level is not high.
We have the server setup running SQL since we are using PowerBI as our application, and MS seems to like SQL more than Postgres.
I can connect to the linked server using ODBC, but there is no data, and the only headers that show are NAME / DATA / SCHEMA / ITEM / KIND which does not seem to correlate to Jira that I can see.
My DBA tells me that from the linked server running SQL, he is able to connect to Jira using the ID we created for the purpose, and is implying to me that everything is good because of this. I think I am missing some steps on the jira side for user permissions (I have granted full admin and developer rights for testing purposes, and still get nothing), or I am missing something in the SQL client configuration or query. If I sign in with the ID created, I seem to be able to access everything.
Anyone have some guidance on what I should be looking at to get this working?
