Link as metadata value

Hey

Im trying to "stamp" every issue with a URL, using the metadata plugin. But I can't figure out how to format it as a link. if I format it as using <a href=... it automatically prefix's the url with <baseURL>/browse/<URL>

i ahve also tried to use the standart jira link format [<text>|<URL>], but this dosen't work either.
