Licence / cluste mode

Hi team

I will  install a JIRA Software server ( Server  / Licence 25 users ) on one server. And i want to setup  a cluster topology ( active / standby ). Do i need to have 2 Licences or i could reuse the same for the 2 servers. ?

My standby server will be under a second datacenter , and will be used only when the first server will be down.

Hi @Pelle cedric , 

you only need one licence as you plan to have a single active node. What you should remember is that the second instance must not be started, otherwise you would not be authorize to use the same licence for both servers.

Please also remember that you can not cluster Server Jira systems in the way most of us understand "cluster".

An active/standby set up is absolutely not a "cluster", but it is a very good backup/business-continuity/disaster-recovery configuration.
