Hello Atlassian Community. I'm new to using Jira and Confluence and I'm posting to ask a couple of questions about automating issue workflows.

  1. Can Jira/Confluence automate workflow change based on status change so the issue automatically moves on/re-assigns to someone else?
  2. Is additional software needed to make this happen beyond Jira or Confluence?
  3. What is the level of effort to setup these automated workflows?

Thank you for the guidance,

Kevin Pannell, PMP

Hi @Kevin Pannell,

Welcome to Atlassian Community.

You can accomplish this by using Automation rules, and it is part of Jira. Depending on the plan you are on, there are some limitations to be aware of. Have a look at Jira automation for more information.
