We would like to give a client acces to the board of their project, but read-only. Is there a way to give the client acces without them having to buy a membership or being able to make changes?

Hi @Katinka Buiting

Welcome to community!

Handling externals should be always done by thinking about all possible security aspects.

For jira software product, any one who is accessing it should have a license. So having license cannot be avoided.

To let them not edit or do any change to the tickets, make sure the user is given only 'Browse projects' permission in the project's permission scheme. It is a project level permission and they will have access to view other issues in the project outside the board as well. You could think about implementing Security scheme if that is a critical requirement to restrict access only to relevant data.

But do check that the user does not have browse access to other projects in the system.
