Latest Jira Update - Subticket opening as sidepanel preview...

As screen space "real-estate" is already quite an expensive resource in productivity, I feel like the latest update showing subtickets as a sidepanel preview is too cumbersome. I really liked previous behaviour opening the subticket as a new page or as a modal.

This way The subticket view is much bigger and better.

At least there should be some settings available for company-wide configuration for the behaviour and user level override available for individual preferences.

Anyone else feeling the same way?

I don't think there's a setting available for company-wide or user-level override to change this behavior back. This feature was announced here: Introducing the global preview panel: All the context, right where you work 

What could be a workaround is to use the scroll bar/wheel button to open the item in a new tab. (I use it on Windows) 🖱️

I don't think there's an open feature request related to this (but do have another check), although you could reach out to Atlassian Support and ask them to create a new one.
