I think I typed the server id wrong to get the license and now the jira core instance doesn't accept the license.

How do I input the correct server id again to get corresponding license?

The server ID is only needed to create your license key for the first time.  There is no obligation to use that generated license on the same server id.  Once the key is generated, you can use this on any server.

So there must be another reason this license activation failed.  Could you take a screenshot of the entire page in your browser when you try to activate this license?  This would help me to understand what other Jira licenses you already have installed (Core, Software, and/or Service Desk).

It is possible that if you already have one of these other products that is using a Developer license, you won't be able to activate a Commercial license on that instance.  You can't mix these license types, so you either need to delete the existing developer licenses, or first update these with evaluation licenses which you can generate at https://my.atlassian.com

Another possible cause of this error is a product mismatch.  For example, you won't be able to apply a Jira Core license to a Jira Software product.
