What happens to Kanban and Scrum boards if you delete certain task types in projects?

Boards display issues based on filters.

The impact to the board depends on the filter criteria.

If an issue type is removed only from an Issue Type Scheme for a Company Managed project, then the issue type continues to exist at a global level. The board should continue to display any issues that still match the criteria of its filter.

For a Team Managed project the board that is automatically created with the project retrieves all issue in the project regardless of issue type. So if you remove an issue type from a Team Managed project there should be no impact to the board.

When you remove an issue type for a project, you first should change any issues of that type in the project to another issue type that you intend to keep in the project.
