Hello Team,

I am part of a Jira Project which has a Kanban board and Sprinting enabled on it. Recently, Jiras from this project were linked to Jiras on a different project. However, after this recent change, I was not able to see the "Complete Sprint" button for the current sprint. But after I was made admin on the second project and given Project Manager permission, I could Complete the current sprint.

But I am still not able to see "Start Sprint" button for the next sprint. My query is two-fold:

1. Is there a way to still have Jiras under 2 different projects and fix this issue with Kanban?

2. If there is no way to do that, is there an easy way to find out all the jiras linked under both the projects?

Thank you.

Hello @Sushrutha Sreevathsa

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

An agile board is either a Scrum board with sprints, or it is a Kanban board and doesn't use sprints. You can't manage sprints in a Kanban board. You can't enable "sprinting" in a Kanban board. Can you provide more information and screen images to explain how you think you have accomplished that in your board?

Whether or not you have permission to start/stop/edit sprints in a board will be determined by:

1. Which projects the board filter references.

2. Your permissions in those projects.

If the filter is ambiguous in referencing projects then Jira will require you to have the appropriate permissions in all projects in Jira. If you share with us the filter used by your Scrum board we can assess if it is ambigous.

If your issues are simply linked, and the board filter is not pulling in the issues from other projects to display as cards, then your permissions in the linked issue projects should not have any impact on your ability to manage sprints.
