I'm having a technical issue with my Jira board in that I mark a parent task as Done and then it disappears after refresh. There are no preset conditions for this to happen and it's very frustrating because I'm losing the tickets. Please advise. Thank you.

Hi @Dan Solomon

As @Howard Nedd and @Evgenii describe it's not about the quick filters on the board.

Go to the board configuration and check the main filter of the board, this is where the issue probably is.

If you don't have this option check with the project admin or a Jira admin what the board filter is set to.

Hi @Dan Solomon ,

Can you go to your board settings and check the filter query (JQL) used for the board?

Make sure that the query does not exclude issues marked as "Done." If the filter is too restrictive, it may hide completed tasks. Check if any quick filters are applied that might be hiding the "Done" tasks.

Lastly, try to verify that the "Done" status is correctly mapped to a column on your board. If the "Done" status is not mapped to any column, the issues will not appear on the board.

Let me know if that helps.

Regards,

Howard

Thanks, Howard.

No filters are currently active and my board has several other Done tasks. It's just the two that I marked as Done yesterday that disappeared and can't be found anywhere.

Hi, @Dan Solomon

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

The most likely reason this is happening is that your board uses a filter that only shows unresolved issues. When an issue transitions to Done and a resolution is set, it no longer meets the filter criteria and disappears from the board.

To fix this, simply update the JQL filter (or sub-filter) used by the board to include resolved issues if needed.
