Hello,
We are using Jira Software to keep track of issues towards suppliers. It is working really great.
Now I would like to introduce Jira towards the internal organization by starting a new Jira account. The reason for starting a new account is that it is important that information shared on the internal Jira is not presented for suppliers.
When I try to start a new account (using the same e-mail as before) I always get back to my "old" account where suppliers also have access.
Is there a way for me to open a new account so that I can introduce Jira for the internal organization?
Best regards,
Erik Carlsson
Hi @Erik Carlsson and welcome to the Community!
Reading between the lines, it seems like you want to create a new site, rather than a new account?
It is perfectly possible to create a new site (with a new URL). Navigate to https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/free, select the products to include in your site and on the next page enter the new url for your site. Be aware that this must be a different url than the one you are using internally.
An alternative would be to upgrade your current plan to the standard or premium edition. Admittedly, it will no longer be free, but you will be able to set permissions to separate projects and control who can access what in your site. Big benefit: your internal and external data can be managed centrally and securely, avoiding duplication and synchronisation challenges you will inevitable get when you start using separate sites.
Hope this helps!
Thank you very much! You are probably right in that I want to create a new site. I think the way to get Jira into this company is to show them some good features before demanding them to pay for it. Step by step..
Now I will try according to your suggestion.
