We are currently nearing to the license expiry, my question would be that will I able to update the renewed license number (currently under progress for new licenses)even after the license expiry ?

I don't think you will be able to because of the end-of server roadmap. Take a look at this page, according to this new server licenses stopped at Feb 2, 2021:
