My project's Jira issues seem to be stuck as "unresolved" when closing an issue the resolution status stays (resolutely) as unresolved. Additionally, I can't seem to change the status directly (eg. by clicking on it like when I change the status of an issue to Open -> In Progress -> In Review -> Closed).
Is this an issue with the way my project is configured or is there something I am missing with this tool?
Are you working with a Company Managed project or a Team Managed project?
Did you customize your workflow and add or change the ending/Done statuses?
In a Company Managed project with customized workflows you need to make sure that each transition to a "done" status (all the statuses in the Done StatusCategory, that show up as green in the issue display) need to have a Post Function in that transition to ensure that the Resolution field is set to Resolved. If your issues can move backwards from done to a not-done status, then each of those transitions needs a corresponding Post Function to clear the Resolution field.
It is a company managed project, I'll see what I can do to get this advice passed up the chain.
