I'm currently designing custom Jira forms for use on the request types. I have managed to find most fields but unfortunately there isn't an an attachment field, which is a crucial part in option in any form.

Hi @richard.githinji - Unfortunately, enhanced forms does not yet support attachments. You'll need to instead add attachments to your request form. The option for attachments would then appear above your enhanced form.
