Jira app 97.0.0 on macOS 10.15.3 is crashing on launch for me. Late 2013 iMac. I have the crash log but can't seem to attach it here.

Does
/System/Volumes/Data/Users/chris/Library/GroupContainers/group.com.atlassian.jira.app/PlugIns
exist? Is it read/writable by the user that Jira runs as? Sounds like permissions problems to me, possibly when you set up the application initially.
No, that doesn't exist. Also, it looks like it has the 32-bit app icon.

That's the path that Jira is complaining about. If this is an existing installation that was working, it sounds like you're pointing to the wrong jira home. If you're setting it up for the first time, I'd reinstall and make sure the user you use has permission to write, ie: root.

It's an existing installation that I did not edit in any way; one day, it simply stopped working. I can't point it somewhere else, because it won't even open.

Welp. You're going to need to figure out where your Jira Home directory is. You can probably find it by running:
sudo find / -name dbconfig.xml
This assumes you're using an external database. Once you figure out where it is, you can use this doc to manually set the home directory.
You do have a backup, just in case, right? :)

I can access it through the web just fine, so I haven't lost anything. Thanks for your help; I will give this a try.
