Jira Workflow for tasks but only apply to a specific task

I have workflow setup for tasks and this is working well. I need to have 1 specific tasks of about 30 send an email to a particular user only when that 1 task is closed. Currently all those tasks on closing send notifications to hipchat which is working well but need one spefic one to also send an alert/email to a particular user. These tasks are often closed too so always need these to go to hipchat & additional to a specific user.

Some thoughts:

You need to have a different task TYPE to be able to do this - that's because you are going to need a different workflow.

You could try to hack the send-to-hipchat code to pick up when it should be sending the extra mail, based on whatever criteria you need.

You could add a custom field called something like "bother extra people", as a multi-user picker. You can then add people into that, and use the field in the notification scheme
