Jira Slack integration

Hi all,

We are new to Slack and are integrating Slack and Jira.  

In doing so we direct certain projects to certain channels.  However, each user would like to see a different degree of what goes to the channel.  Is this configurable per user?

I should mention that the only thing close I found was to create a different channel per user and it appears only administrators can create the channel so this would have to be maintained by the admin.
