Jira Service Desk shortcuts missing

Kris Van de Vijver
August 8, 2018

I was asked to migrate Jira in our test environment from 7.10 to 7.11.

Everything seems to work but when I start the new version, the sidebar (of f.e. service desk) doesn't contain the shortcuts that show up in the old version (customers, reports, etc).

When I look at the service desk icon, in the old version there's a little green screen in the icon, but this is not visible in the new version.

See attachment.

Can anyone tell me what this means?

Many thanks!

Kris

Hello, Kris.

This behavior usually happens when Service Desk is not installed. My guess is that you've upgraded Jira Core, but didn't install Jira Service Desk.

Since the core is already upgraded you can just install Service Desk from the GUI and start using it again. To do this click on Jira Administration > Applications > Versions & Licenses, you should see a button to install/download Jira Service Desk in the application list. If not, it should be a "Try it for free" button on the right side.

Kind regards,

hi Mauricio,  you are right. After checking this it appears that I didn't install Service Desk but Jira Core.  Many thanks for your reply!
