Jira Server to Data Center Upgrade Hardware Requirements

We are looking to upgrade our Jira Server instance to a single Jira Data Center node.

When I read through hardware requirements for both products they seem very different, however they look like they were created at different times and with different assumptions.

How resource intensive is jira data center compared with jira server ?

There is an easy cheat for this one.

Atlassian recommend that each node in your cluster should be the same spec as your existing server (assuming it is working ok).  

I would not recommend this (set up a new server designed for this, don't just flip the licence.  Plan for it), but you can just import a DC licence to a single server and it then becomes a single-node DC install.
