Jira Portfolio - Backlog menu item is not visible on Plan screen

When I am on the Portfolio Plan screen my menu shows the following:

All of the JIRA Portfolio demo and youtube videos I have watched show a "Backlog" menu item in front of Scope as shown in a screen shot from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_P5EPUGC-5w&spfreload=10 around 7:06 in the video.

Why don't we see the Backlog in our installed version of JIRA Portfolio 2?

I had the same problem but then I realised that portfolio 2.x onwards has changed  the old UI having "Backlog" , "People" , "Releases" on top right and "Epic", initiative on top left, instead what you see is the new UI and the old UI is called "classic plans" now
