Jira Plan + Jira Software -- is there a way to connect tasks from both of these types of projects?

Case in point:

* We have the Project Plan set up via Jira Plans.

* We have the Project Scrum Board set up via Jira Software.

Question/Issue:

* Can we connect an associated task in Jira Plans to it's respective task on the Scrum Board via Jira Software? 

Asking as we are using TEMPO to time track and Dev's work time is logged in the Scrum Board via Jira Software.

Hi @Lia Mack,

I am a bit confused by your question. Since you seem to be on a premium plan, I am guessing that you mean Advanced Roadmaps Plans when you talk about Jira Plans. You access those from the Plans menu in Jira.

If that is the case, the issues you see in your plan ARE the issues you see in your Jira project. Issues are always stored in a Jira project, but brought into a plan to unlock the roadmap features there via a plan's issue source.

When you create a new plan, you should select your scrum board as the source for your plan to pull the issues into your plan. If you update your issues in Jira, they will also be updated automatically in your plan (as they are the same issues). To push changes you make in the plan to your Jira issues, push the Review Changes button in the top right corner of your plan and then commit selected changes to your issues.

I was equally confused, hence the confusion. ☺️

Yes we do have the advanced road maps plan, and it's the first time I've ever used it; as well, I am working with a team with zero jira experience... and I, myself, only have swiss cheese knowledge of jira that I acquired elsewhere on the job.

Your solution makes perfect sense, duh! 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️😂
