Hi all,

I know I have done this before but I cannot figure it out.

I have a field called product which has values of: Linux, Mac, Windows, Server, Common.

For one particular project I need to select list to only have 2 values Server, Common

while the rest of the projects see all choices.

Can anyone refresh my memory on how this is best accomplished?

Thanks,

Robert

Hi @Robert G. Nadon

You are likely looking for Field Configurations.

You can go to the custom field, edit the custom field and set up a new Context.

Create the context for the new selection list, with the issue types and projects it will be used for and then add the options.

It looks like this in Cloud.

field add new context.png

Then Create your new Context

field new context.png

And once the Context is set you can add your options

Thanks I tried that but how do I set a different context for two different projects and the same custom field?  Each field appears to be able to have only one context.

When I set a context for project A, projects B and C can no longer see the field...

When you are in the Create New Context, select the project(s) you want to have the new configuration for, in the Choose applicable context.  You can select one or more projects.

When you do that, the projects selected will have the new options and anything not selected will retain the default.

That is what I did and then the other projects not selected can no longer see the field.    Maybe I am changing the default somehow?

K I went in and added another context and that appears to work.  Thanks so much for your time and great answers!!!
