Some how the navigation has shifted from the top to the left side of the window and I hate it. How can I switch it back again

It's the new layout for Cloud.

You can opt out with a setting in your profile for "use traditional layout" in some cases, but that option is gradually going away as everyone is going to be moved on to the new layout.
