EXPECTED BEHAVIOR: Jira Dashboard's calendar view should load into today's date. (i.e., show August and not July.)
EXPERIENCED BEHAVIOR: Jira Dashboard's calendar view loads into July when the current month is in August.
COMMENTARY:
I track and manage releases through a calendar created in a dashboard and populated by fix versions scheduled on a certain date. Prior to August 1, the calendar would consistently load into the correct month. However, since August started, the calendar view loads into July and not August. This occurs every time the tab refreshes, leading to some minor frustration whenever I have to hold up a review meeting to parse into the current month.
So far, I've tried to find settings that might be causing it, but Jira configuration is a thing of madness. An Escherian, eldritch crevasse from which there is no escape and only the slow descent into insanity - as if one is in a Herzog film without the sardonic humor. But I digress.
Any ideas what might be causing this? It's not a tremendous pain right now, but it is annoying and not something I'd like to continue futzing with.
Hi @aaron_simon , welcome to the Atlassian Community!
This looks more like saved calendar state than a release or dashboard configuration. I could not find a Jira Cloud setting that defines which month the Work item Calendar gadget opens on.
First, open the same dashboard in a private or incognito window. If it opens in August, clear the site data for your Jira URL or sign out and back in, as the current browser session is probably restoring July.
If it still opens in July, add a new Calendar gadget to a temporary dashboard with the same project or filter and version settings. If only the original gadget is affected, recreate it. If a new gadget also opens in July in a private window, ask another user to test the dashboard. Reproducing it for multiple users would suggest a Jira Cloud regression rather than local browser state.
In that case, capture the gadget configuration and a short recording. As a temporary alternative, if the releases belong to one software space, use its Calendar view with Releases enabled.
Hi Germán,
Thanks! I should have thought about clearing the cache/session. That did the trick.
Cheers,
Aaron
