Jira (Cloud) Structure - formula columns

KS December 13, 2022

Hi,

Can you help me to create a formula columns in Jira (Cloud) Structure ?

The Hierarchy is:

  • Epic
    • Task
      • Subtask

Every task and subtask has a custom field 'dependency' with a text TRIN-XXXX.

If TRIN-XXXX has status 'done', Formula column of issue with dependency TRIN-XXXX should have a green background. Else, Fomula column of issue with dependency TRIN-XXX should have a red background.

Thanks a lot !!

Kr,

Hello @KS ,

I'm afraid the answer may be that it's not yet possible to do this yet on Cloud.  The formatting would be relatively easy to set up.  The challenge is what you are trying to reference.

Am I correct in assuming that TRIN-XXXX is another Jira issue and you are looking to reference it's Status?

Where is the "dependency" field coming from?  Is it another app, or is it a custom issue link that you are referring to as a field?

If you could share some more details, I would be happy to help identify if it is something we have in our backlog, or if it is a new feature request.

Look forward to your feedback.

Best,
David
