Jira Cloud - JQL search for issues in achived projects

Marko H November 23, 2022

Is there a way to add issues from archived projects to jql search range? I would like to have statistics about the bugs we have created over longer period and all the older project have been archived.

Hello @Marko H

Part of the purpose of archiving issues is to remove them from the issue indexing to speed up searching. If you want the issues to be searchable, then you need to not archive them.

What problem are you solving by archiving the issues? Maybe that can be solved in another way so that the issues remain searchable.

Hi @Marko H

When a project is archived there’s no way to search the issues contained within it via JQL anymore so you can’t use them for any reports.

OK. Thanks for quick and prompt reply.

Hopefully this option would be possible at some time.
