Hi everyone,
currently I try to get a content management board running in Jira Business. For each asset type I would like to have separate workflow. But when I try to add more than one workflow to the project the board isn't shown anymore. I already read through the troubleshooting and reworked my workflows to use the same states (even when some of them don't connect to all states). Still no board. Has anyone experienced this behavior?
Greetings
Hi Marcel,
On Business projects, it's not possible to use the board when it has multiple workflows because the board doesn't know which workflow to show.
If you want to use the board, you will have to set only one workflow, otherwise, you will have to transition tickets by changing the status directly in the ticket.
We have a feature request suggesting the ability to hide the Board menu when the project has multiple workflows:
Please, click on vote and watch to receive updates about the feature.

Angélica
Hi Angelica,
thanks for your reply. What sense does it make to have only one workflow on a board, when I need to track different types of issues with it? Each type of issue should have a different movement pattern on the board, e.g. one might jump a step but others need to go through this step. That's at least what the Content Management Board Template suggests.

Business projects were created to track simple requests.
As described on the documentation Working with boards, if the statuses are not the same, Jira won't know which workflow to show in the board.
The board displays a column for each status, so where the statuses aren't the same, the board doesn't know which workflow to show.
If you want to work with multiple statuses and issue types on a board, maybe you can try a Jira Software project.

Ah ok then I will try Jira Software Project, thank you.
I understood the sentence in the "Working with boards" section in a way, when 2 workflows contain the same statuses (e.g. todo, in progress, review, done), but one just has no transition to "review" for example going directly to done. Then both workflows contain the same statuses but are different processes for different items. Does this make sense?

It may not make sense because it would work on a Jira Software project, but Business projects were designed this way so the workflows must be exactly the same for the board to work as expected.
