Hey.

We have Jira Software v.8.20.11. I have a performance issue when using Advanced Roadmaps that I'm looking to find a solution for.

When gathering issues to a plan through a filtersearch, the speed of the plan is OK. But when gathering issues through project boards (about 12 boards) the plan is noticably slower. The plans both consists of the same 2200 issues. Both plans have excluded the same number of releases. Both plans exclude issues that has been resolved for more than 30 days. Non of the plans have any removed issues.

The performance lag on the plan based on boards is noticable when trying to use filters inside the plan to view and work with the plan.

My only guess is that the plan based on boards also gets access to the sprints instead of reading them as external sources. Across the project boards I suspect the total number of sprints are over 1000sprints (4-5 years and a sprint every 2 weeks for 10-12 projects).

Some issues have a bad habit of being moved to future sprints and have been part of upto 50 sprints, while most issues are not set to sprints or only have been part of few.

How can this be resolved? Any ideas?

I read that one option is to remove excess sprints (https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/performance-recommendations-for-advanced-roadmaps/). Haven't decided if the sprint is relevant to know in the future, or if the history of the issue is enough to know enough about what happened to it (probably would be enough).

Also looks like it is solved for Jira Cloud only? (https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-20694)

The reason for using Boards was to be able to see the sprints spread out on the Gantt-schema and to get warnings when issues don't get closed at the end of sprints.

...and whatever the sprints can provide as a benefit to the Advanced Roadmap.

Also tested picking all the projects instead of boards, and it is as quick as the filter-variant of the plan.
