Java Scripts for JIRA Number Fields

We are looking for sample JAVA scripts/reports that can calculate JIRA Number Fields and report for Risk Management. Also is there a GADGET that can do the same? Something simple like:

1) Multiply the contents three fields ( Risk Detectability x Risk Probability x Risk Consequence)

2) Store the results in a new field called Risk Importance

I have seen the developer section but could not find a direct hit.

Is it best to use the API? Our main concern is with free plugins that may go away or not compatible with JIRA versions so we are looking for a stable suit of JAVA scripts/tools etc

There is a risk management plugin in marketplace. But looking at your requirements it may be better to use script runner and add a scripted field which multiplies these fields
