I have a kanban board and I'm trying to filter on only items which a description field that's been updated in the last 7 days. I cannot for the life of me figure this out.

Hi @David Sanchez -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

You cannot do that with out-of-the-box Jira JQL filters.  There are WAS and CHANGED operators, but they do not work with the description field. The marketplace addons for JQL might support this, but I haven't tried your use case before.

How often do you need to do this and for how many issues?

  • Just a few issues and infrequently: check the issue histories manually
  • Often and for many issues:
    • Investigate marketplace addons, or
    • Going forward, you could create a work-around using a custom field and an automation rule to save the date/time whenever the description is changed.  You could then query that in the future.

Best regards,
Bill
