JIRA remote access through TMG -> Apache

Andrew Morin

Hi All,

Before I start this effort I was browsing the answers and documentation to see if this is a valid configuration. I run JIRA behing the firewall with Tomcat. I want to allow outside the firewall access to some vendors working with us and instead of giving out VPN access we want to configure the following. My internal users access JIRA at http://company-jira. So now we want outside users to access through our TMG server at https://jira.comapny.com be prompted for credentials and be redirected to as yet to setup apache on JIRA server at https://jira.company.com where Apache will handle the https to http redirect. Will this work?

Thanks

Andrew

Hello, this will work, but I would recommend placing Apache in front of JIRA for all users. This way, you won't have problems of users reaching JIRA through two different URLs as this will cause problems since JIRA will only allow you to set one Base URL.
